This Clinical Attachment in Cardiothoracic Imaging is designed to provide radiology professionals with structured clinical exposure to specialized thoracic and cardiac imaging services, focusing on advanced diagnostic techniques and the management of cardiothoracic pathologies within a hospital setting.

Program Focus

The program is designed to enhance participants' knowledge of cardiothoracic radiology through supervised clinical exposure. This includes:

• Cardiac MRI and CT Acquisition: Exposure to the acquisition, post-processing, and interpretation of coronary CT angiography, calcium scoring, and cardiac MRI for assessing cardiomyopathies, valvular heart disease, and myocardial viability.

• Thoracic CT and Plain Film Interpretation: Insight into the reporting of high-resolution CT (HRCT) for interstitial lung disease, lung cancer staging, and the systematic interpretation of complex chest X-rays within an acute clinical setting.

• Image-Guided Interventions and MDTs: Participation in lung cancer and interstitial lung disease Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings, along with observation of image-guided thoracic procedures such as CT-guided lung biopsies and pleural interventions.

Upon completion of the clinical attachment, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of cardiothoracic imaging services within an NHS hospital in the UK. The program aims to strengthen diagnostic reporting skills, improve familiarity with advanced imaging modalities, and enhance understanding of integrated clinical pathways within the UK healthcare system.

• Required Documents: To apply, you must submit the following documents:

  2. University Diploma.

  3. Specialty Diploma (Resident doctors are also eligible to apply).

  4. Any other international exam results you may have.

  5. English Test Result if available.
