Program Focus
The program is designed to enhance participants' knowledge of endoscopic surgery through supervised clinical exposure. This includes:
Diagnostic and Therapeutic Procedures: Exposure to upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopies, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and flexible sigmoidoscopy, with a focus on lesion identification, mucosal biopsy techniques, and polypectomy.
Advanced Surgical Endoscopy: Insight into complex interventional procedures such as Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), and the management of acute gastrointestinal bleeds using thermal and mechanical hemostasis.
Peri-operative Management and Safety: Understanding patient assessment for sedation, informed consent processes, and the implementation of the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist within the endoscopy suite to ensure high standards of patient safety.
Expected Outcome
Upon completion of the clinical attachment, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of endoscopy services within an NHS hospital in the UK. University Diploma.
Specialty Diploma (Resident doctors are also eligible to apply).
Any other international exam results you may have.
English Test Result if available.
